Most successful companies have several things in common, but here’s one of the more important: Own Who You Are.
That’s what’s happening at Glynlea Country Club, in Port St. Lucie, FL. The centerpiece of GreenPointe Holdings’ Wylder master-planned golf community in St. Lucie County. Glynlea is PGA Tour star Jim Furyk’s first design. Not only has the two-time Ryder Cup Captain (2018, 2027) made it a good one, he’s made it playable for members, guests, currently the public. Glynlea is a solid test of golf – 6,630 yards (par 72) from the tips with three sets of hybrid tees – that’s not tricked out or pretentious.
“Golf courses have always been built for championship level play – where it’s just penal everywhere,’’ said JT Symons, general manager at Glynlea CC, which is managed by Hampton Golf. “Every great player hits it down the middle and then straight at the pin.
“At Glynlea, you’re not overly penalized. There are no goofy holes. If you hit a bad shot, you have a chance to recover. It’s all right there in front of you.’’
